Kidd Township
The Property
The property is located in Kidd Township approximately 1.5km south from Xstrata’s Kidd Creek mine in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, which is composed mainly of meta-volcanic rocks cut by faults and deformation zones that lie in a northwest to southeast direction. Previous drilling by Xstrata, South of Explor’s property yielded anomalous Cu-Zn values
History and Geological Background
The Kidd Creek mine has produced at least 130 million tonnes of base metal ore since it started production in 1966. A series of untested airborne anomalies have been observed on the property. A review of existing data has revealed a series of linear airborne anomalies with an east-west trend.
